Michael Jackson Tribute

As everybody knows, the world took a hit yesterday with the passing of Michael Jackson. It was very sudden and unexpected, taking everybody by shock. Even with all of the outside stories, rumors, etc., nobody could deny the talent that Michael Jackson possessed. I'm sure that everybody has some sort of fond memory when it comes to MJ's music.

For me, I have never seen Michael in concert, never even been anywhere close to him, but I still remember when I was growing up, Michael Jackson was always playing in my house. When I was younger, many mornings, especially on the weekends, Michael Jackson (and Whitney Houston) would be coming through the speakers. The album Bad seemed to be my mom's favorite as that was the album that was always spinning and it seems we would listen to it non-stop. These are the type of things that don't seem very important when they are happening, but looking back, I realize how much fun I had listening to those records.

Not only was Bad heavily played in my house, but come the holiday season, my mom also owned the Jackson 5 Christmas Album. My brother and I used to run errands with my mom listening to that album and then put it in on as soon as we got home. Unfortunately, I accidently broke it (I sat on it) 10 years or so ago. That honestly bothered me for a long time, but I was able to finally buy it as a gift for my mom two Christmas's ago, and we went on to bump that for a few days straight.

Once again, I didn't realize it at the time, but Michael played a big role in my childhood. Yes I, as well as many others, may have had many laughs at the expense of Michael for some of the other antics, allegations, and other drama that surrounded MJ from the changing of his color to his court cases, but regardless of all that, Michael Jackson touched myself and so many others across the globe. He is the King of Pop and has influenced everybody's music, irrespective of genre. He will truly be missed. R.I.P.

Ya'll remember this? This was my joint when it first came out. R.I.P. Ray Charles, Mike, and others.

Leave any comments you have about Michael Jackson and any memories you might have.

Peace.
