Song to Check Out

With everybody going crazy about this "D.O.A." track by Jay-Z, you had to have known that there were probably going to be at least a few remixes to it. While you may be waiting for some more well known artists to go over this track and probably not really do it justice, there is one person that might be flying under your radar that actually went in on it. I mentioned him before a while back, but Fuze the MC has been dropping a lot of tracks lately.

One of his more recent tracks was the remix to Jay's "D.O.A." and I have to tell you guys that this dude is putting in work. In the song, he basically tells all of those who take Jay's word as gospel to find their own style and sense of creativity. We all know that Jay has set a lot of trends over the years and most of the time, what he says goes (for whatever reason). Now, I am a huge Jay fan and personally, although it may have been just a tad bit too late, I am glad that somebody finally made the official statement on wax that autotune is done for. However, with that said, I have to admit that Fuze has a great point with this song and I would encourage everybody to listen to it. Here are a few links that you can get the song from: http://www.zshare.net/audio/61007975252333fd/, http://www.box.net/shared/dis6f3vqp9, or http://i39.tinypic.com/6zn4fb.jp.

Anyway, I was going to refrain from posting something on my thoughts about "D.O.A." because EVERYBODY else is and I usually hate following everybody else. But, then I figured why not? I'll have that up within the next couple of days just so that my opinion on the song is up there as well.

And while I'm giving shout-outs, everybody go to Vibe Best on Facebook (the official VIBE member page) and add them as a friend as well as Vibe Magazine (the official facebook page) and become a fan. They have a lot of great stuff happening right now, especially with "The MOST! Magazine" coming out next week. The MOST! also has a facebook so become a fan there as well and read up on all the things that are going to be in this month's issue.

Enough with that, though. Listen to the remix and post your comments on it. Are you feeling it or does it not really do it for you? You agree with what he's saying? Let me hear it. You can also hit me at straightouttahiphop@gmail.com. Check out the original "D.O.A." below.

Peace.
