A Dedication

As we all know, mothers and grandmothers have always played an important role in hip hop and the lives of hip hop artists. Many artists rap about their lives growing up in single-parent homes or having to spend much of their childhood with in the house of their grandmothers'/grandparents'. Unfortunately, my family has suffered the loss of my grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Mae Hill. She was a mother of eight and was adored by all she knew. I am glad to say that she did not suffer and that she is now with the Lord, who she has always trusted and believed in.

As we get closer to Mothers' Day, take the time to thank, hug, kiss, call, or whatever else your mother and everybody else around you whom you love. We usually don't know what we have until it is gone, so make sure that you appreciate everything you have. Luckily for my family, she has lived a full life and God called her when He was ready.  There will be another blog surrounding the topic of Mothers' Day, but for now, this blog is dedicated to the memory, spirit, and soul of Carrie Mae Hill. She has lost so much and was still strong enough to carry on through it all. I respected that about her more than anything else. Not too many people could have dealt with the things that she had, but she was always able to overcome it. She finally gets to meet Jesus and see her husband again. I dedicate this song from Nas, off of his album God's Son to her. May she rest in peace. I love you, Grandma.
