Slaughterhouse - Rank Amongst Great Groups

Before I get started, I just have to say that the All Star weekend this year was pretty entertaining. Dwight Howard entertained as he did last year. Yeah, he lost to Nate Robinson, and congratulation to him because that dunk was CRAZY, but he never would have won if Dwight didn't let him do that. Regardless, it entertained and they put on a great show (that 12 ft. dunk was crazy, too). It was also good to see Shaq out there again this year. From the intro dancing to the game, he entertained the whole time, which is what we love and expect from him. Does anybody think that Dwight Howard is turning into the Shaquille O'Neal of the All-Star weekend? I'm just saying, they both really enjoy themselves and try to put on a show. And with this possibly being Shaq's last All-Star game, we could be seeing a new era with Dwight. Anyway, it was a great weekend and I enjoyed watching it. How bout yall? Now down to business.

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard about the newest and hottest group in hip hop right now, by the name of Slaughterhouse. If you haven't, the group is made up of four of the nicest up & coming MCs to date: Royce da 5'9" (although he has been in the game for a while and ma not be considered up & coming), Joe Budden (who is probably the most commercially successful of the group, but hasn't really had a hit since "Pump It Up"), Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz. This group consists of all different major areas in the U.S., Budden being from NJ, Ortiz from Brooklyn, Royce out of Detroit, and Crooked holds down the west coming out of Long Beach, CA. While all of them have been working on solo projects, they decided to join forces a few months back and have all hinted at an album dropping at some point. So what do you get when you have this...

An absolute powerhouse. Personally, my favorites are Crooked and Joell, but I can rock to all of them. Although I would love to see a group album from them, I also want to see each of them come out with solo albums as well. I know that Joell's and Crooked's have been in the works for a while now and Joe Budden's album Padded Room drops next week (Feb. 24 if I'm not mistaken) and Royce also has an album dropping soon. I just hope that the group album doesn't slow the releasing of the solo albums too much (or vice versa).

Anyway, I don't have much for yall, I just thought I'd bring this to the attention to those few who didn't know and just leave some good music and freestyles that were already up on game, but before I go, yall know I have a question. Where do you feel that this group, should they put out an album or a number of albums, rank amongst some of the great groups of all time? I'm talking Outkast, NWA, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang, and all of them. Is there any possible way they could touch any of them? Or do they actually get a higher ranking than some might expect? Or what about some of the "new age" groups, such as Clipse, G-Unit, etc? This group reminds me a lot of Westside Connection. A group of respected MCs coming together to form an album. Westside Connection's first album was excellent in my opinion. I know this would be some what of a preliminary "ranking" if you will, but what are your thoughts, assuming that they stay together a while and put out a quality album or two? Holla at me.

Peace.
